Biografía
Vanessa nació en Salinas, California (Estados Unidos). Es hija de Gina Guangco y Greg Hudgens.[1] [2] Tiene una hermana menor Stella Hudgens. Su padre es americano-irlandés y con ascendencia nativo-americana. Su madre, que creció en Manila (Filipinas) tiene ascendencia filipina.[3] [2] Estudió en su casa después de haber terminado el séptimo grado en el Orange County High School of the Arts.[1] [4]
Carrera
Inicios
Empezando a la edad de ocho años, Hudgens apareció en musicales de teatros como cantante, así como en producciones locales de Carousel, El Mago de Oz, El Rey y yo, The Music Man, y Cenicienta, entre otros.[5] Su debut en una película fue en Thirteen, haciendo el papel de Noel. En 2004 apareció en la película Thunderbirds en el papel de Tintin.[6] Se mudó a Los Ángeles después de ganar una audición para Old Navy en 2005. En ambas producciones apareció junto con Brady Corbet. Sus apariciones incluyeron personajes invitados en Quintuplets, Still Standing, The Brothers Garcia, Drake & Josh y The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
2005 - 2007: High School Musical y álbum debut
El rol que le otorgó su salto a la fama fue en la serie de películas originales de Disney Channel, High School Musical, protagonizando a Gabriella Montez. Hudgens y su co-estrella en la película, Zac Efron ganaron el premio de "Mejor Química" en los Teen Choice Awards por sus roles.[7] Sus contribuciones a la banda sonora de High School Musical incluyen "What I've been looking for (Reprise)", "When There was Me and You", "Start of Something New", "Breaking Free" y "We're All in this Together". 2008 - presente: Identified
El 3 de mayo de 2008 empezó las filmaciones para, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, la cuál es producida por Walt Disney Pictures que se estrenó en cines el 24 de octubre de 2008 y tuvo una gran aceptación por parte del público.
El 11 de enero de 2008 se anunció que Vanessa aparecería en la comedia musical Bandslam, donde protagoniza a una chica de 15 años llamda Sam, quien junto con una chica más popular que ella, comparten su amor por la música.
Su segundo álbum, Identified fue lanzado el 1 de julio de 2008. Debutó en la posición 23 de Billboard 200 con 22.000 copias vendidas. El 11 de abril de 2008, Radio Disney estrenó el primer sencillo, llamado "Sneakernight".[10] El video musical fue estrenado el 13 de junio de 2008.

Hudgens confirmó en una entrevista a la revista Teen Magazine en octubre de 2007 que se encuentra saliendo con Zac Efron.[11] [12]
El 6 de septiembre de 2007, fueron distribuidas en Internet varias fotografías en ropa interior y un desnudo total, que ella se tomó para sorprender a su novio, Zac Efron.[13]
Su representante indicó que las fotos habían sido tomadas en privado y que fue desafortunado que se hayan hecho públicas.[14] Vanessa declaró públicamente que se encontraba avergonzada por lo ocurrido y que se arrepentirá siempre de haber hecho esas fotos.[15]
Por su parte, la portavoz de Disney Channel, señaló que Vanessa pidió disculpas por lo que obviamente fue un error de juicio y que la foto no debería afectar la convocatoria de Hudgens para el elenco de High School Musical 3.
Sin embargo, el 5 de agosto de 2009, se filtraron en internet nuevas fotos en las que la actriz aparece desnuda. Su defensa legal solicitó que fueran retiradas arguyendo que fueron tomadas cuando Vanessa Hudgens tenía 18 años.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens began her career began in musical theatre when she was just 8-years-old. She has played leading and supporting roles in musical productions including "Evita," "Carousel," "The Wizard of Oz," "The King & I," "The Music Man," "Cinderella" and "Damn Yankees."
Vanessa made her feature film debut in Catherine Hardwicke's Thirteen (2003), starring Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood. She also co-starred in the action-adventure film Thunderbirds.
